Week 20

Surprise!
We had our 20 week anatomy scan on Monday, June 25th and were pleasantly surprised to find out we are having two baby girls!

I really thought that one was a boy!

Kosta is so excited, as well!

Feeling pretty good this week!

I am feeling a lot of movement from the babies, and even got to feel a kick from the outside for the first time this week! So that was so very exciting!

The babies are crazy for orange juice and when I have a glass, they start moving like crazy.

I am measuring at 32 weeks, even though I am only 20 weeks, but the doctor says that is to be expected:

I am feeling good! Definitely enjoying my Gabrialla maternity belt as my belly grows :)

Week 14

Hooray for the Second Trimester!
This week, the babies got another "Glamour Shot" this week.
They no longer can be viewed together during ultrasound, as they are too big!
They are definitely looking more like babies, and less like aliens - this is a relief!
Although they were wiggling around like crazy on the ultrasound monitor, it will still be several weeks before I will be able to feel them moving and even longer until Kosta will be able to feel them from the outside.
They are roughly the size of navel oranges:

They consistently measure a few days larger than their current gestational age - such little overachievers!
They must be taking after their daddy!

Since about week 12-13, I have been feeling much better - my appetite still isn't what it used to be, but I can eat a larger variety of things without worry of feeling like shit.
I have still not vomited, so for that I am eternally grateful!

There are other things that are disconcerting...
Constipation :/
No one ever tells you about that.
And you know what else? When people brag about how long and lush their hair & nails are...they fail to tell you that the rapid luxurious hair growth is not limited to your scalp.
It pertains to all your follicles and I recommend you invest in A LOT of razors and be sure to check random spaces for stray whiskers (i.e. cleavage, belly, chin)

Week 10

I can't believe I am already 10 weeks along! So much has changed and there is still so far to go.
Here is Baby B - looking ever so darling, having since lost it's embryonic tail:

And that ^ is Baby A, equally darling - although not identically as darling as it's twin.
These babies are Fraternal Twins - identified by the fact that they are in separate amniotic sacs and do not share a placenta.
They can also be called Dichorionic/ Diamniotic or Di/Di Twins.

And here am I:
This week, I am feeling not so great.
Most food grosses me out, and I usually feel nauseated from the time I wake up until about 4pm.
After 4 pm, I am ravenous.

On days when I don't feel nauseated, I have a skull splitting headache that nothing but time can cure.
I am now waking up several times each night to pee.
I've been told to get used to this.

Week 7

Here we are at 7 weeks...
Still looking much like little blobs, however a lot is happening!
Hands and feet are emerging from their little blobby bodies!
Their little hearts continue to beat at about 115 bpm.

No picture of me this week, as I look much the same as last week.

I am feeling OK - having some food aversions, am increasingly tired and peeing like crazy - so far so good!

Remember me?

I figured it was time I climbed out from beneath my non-blogging rock and let anyone who still follows me that I am not dead in a ditch somewhere!

I've been a wee bit preoccupied since this happened:
In case you're not "hip" to the world of home pregnancy testing - these are 4 very positive pregnancy tests!

And if that isn't awesome enough, how about this:
For those who don't dabble in early fetal ultrasound interpretation, oh yeah...there's two in there!

And even though there is a whole lot going on inside me, I only look like this (well, so far!)

"It tasted like cloves & ass"

Topical Tuesday is a weekly blog project in which 4...er FIVE! people contribute their individual spin on the same topic.

My fellow bloggers are:

This week's topic comes from Shara: "Pumpkins. Now, go!"

With all this commotion about the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte, I found myself compelled to try it.
Usually, I am a white chocolate mocha (non-fat/ no-whip) with an extra shot gal. After hearing Shara go on about it, and my boss shouting "Jamba Juice has the Pumpkin Smash again!" I thought to myself, "I like pumpkin pie, why not give it a shot?' and gave in last Friday.
My latte was one of EPIC FAIL.
I ordered it through the drive through and due to lactose intolerance issues, it was a non-fat, no-whip. The drink tasted SLIGHTLY of pumpkin spices for the first half of the drink, then (without warning) changed to "OMG! PUMPKINSPICEEXPLOSION!" for the last half.
It wasn't stirred and the coffee part floated to the top and whatever makes it a "Pumpkin Spice Latte" fell to the bottom.
I drank it all because I am cheap, and wasn't going to waste $5 to throw it away.
It turned my tongue orange and made me feel sick.
In the future, if I want something that tastes like pumpkin pie...I will just eat a slice of pumpkin pie.

And to turn this blog from being all "debbie downer", here is a picture of my skilled hubby's pumpkin carving prowess:

We're naming the baby Dutch Ascot!

Topical Tuesday is a weekly blog project in which 4...er FIVE! people contribute their individual spin on the same topic.

My fellow bloggers are:

This week's topic comes from Sara: Which celebrity are you sick of and why?

I can only pick ONE??
I am not a fan of celebrities, in general. My intense dislike mainly stems from celebrities who name their kids STUPID names.
So, being the child of a famous person isn't enough, they have to have ridiculous names as well?
Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon, I am looking DIRECTLY AT YOU.
Monroe I can stand, but Moroccan? You named your baby a nationality! Morocco is cool, you could've called him Rocco for short, but no. You took it one letter too far.
I could rant about this all day, seriously, but I won't.
It's one thing to be creative, and give your child a name that you've thought about and spoken out loud. A name that is just adorable on an infant, and stays that way as they grow up.
Is Moroccan Cannon (OMG, just say that out loud right now. Moroccan Cannon.) going to be a lawyer? A doctor? He could be. All I can say is at least he'll be rich.
